As CEO & Managing Director at BetterHR, I led the turnaround and growth of a national HR and employment law business combining SaaS technology with advisory services.
I inherited a business going backwards, turned it around and spent more than seven years building the commercial, operational and technology capability needed to scale it. I doubled revenue and gross profit, grew the platform to more than 60,000 users and increased enterprise value by more than 250%, using internal cashflow rather than external capital.
I built long-term strategic relationships with organisations including Telstra, ADP Payroll, franchise groups and industry bodies, and expanded the business through a combination of technology, product development, customer growth and improved retention.
Alongside the CEO role, I also led the technology and product strategy for more than 10 years, overseeing a major SaaS rebuild, mobile platforms and more than 25 digital transformation projects. I also led service delivery across more than 300 partners and the broader HR, sales, marketing, finance and technology functions.
I served on the Board and as Company Secretary for more than seven years, earned significant equity through the value I created and ultimately led the buyer narrative through the successful exit of the business in 2024.
Group CEO at Zonda Global, Zonda Care & Marine Seven – Led $20m+ multi-entity portfolio across healthcare staffing & recruitment, NDIS services and marine sales & service (luxury & retail). Team of 300+ people across 50+ sites nationally.
Delivered double digit revenue growth.
Transformed losses to 34% gross profit.
Delivered 12-month strategic and operational targets in half the planned timeframe. Increased exit velocity by 3 months.
Restructed national operations (eliminated inefficiencies, reduced costs, improved service).
Integrated 5 acquisitions (NSW, QLD, VIC, SA x 2).
Handled complex legal and compliance risks.
Created, built and launched an e-commerce marketplace (Boat Search).
Led national managed services team (IT, HR, marketing, sales, etc).
Positioned portfolio assets for successful exit in 2025.
As National General Manager Sales & Marketing at the Housing Industry Association, I led company-wide commercial operations for Australia's peak body for the residential building industry, with responsibility for a $85m+ P&L and more than 300 people across 23 sites.
The role covered a surprisingly broad business — membership, training, events, retail, apprenticeships, publications, Home Ideas Centres and the national call centre — supporting builders, renovators, trade contractors, developers and suppliers across Australia.
I helped turn declining membership performance around and grew the organisation to more than 50,000 members. I expanded training to more than 500 courses and 8,000 participants, increased apprentices to more than 600, and expanded the retail network to more than 20 locations while launching a new online marketplace.
I also helped establish and commercialise Home Ideas Centres in Canberra and the Hunter, expanded member events and delivered an enterprise-wide transformation across 23 sites, improving commercial performance, operational alignment and customer engagement.
It was a role that required me to balance commercial performance with the needs of a membership organisation and its broader industry purpose, while leading a large and geographically dispersed team through significant change.
As National Sales Director at Sensis (owned by Telstra), I led commercial operations across several divisions of what was then a $1.8b+ advertising and technology business, including White Pages, Yellow Pages, Whereis, Trading Post, Sensis 1234 and Telstra Directory Assistance.
I joined Sensis as an Account Manager and progressed through Senior Account Manager and Key Account Manager before becoming National Sales Director, moving from one of the company's top sales performers into a senior leadership role in less than two years.
I was responsible for some of the company's largest and most complex client relationships and helped grow the core business from $909 million to more than $1.8 billion. I delivered more than 200% sales growth across my portfolios, grew several accounts to more than $1 million and developed relationships with major organisations including Sony, Visa, Mastercard and Hyundai. Along the way, I was recognised with multiple Top Sales, CEO Club, Salesperson of the Month and Salesperson of the Year awards.
One of the more challenging assignments was taking responsibility for the Federal Government and foreign government listings business. I inherited a seriously troubled operation with significant privacy, security and accuracy issues across more than 5,000 government accounts, including Centrelink, the ATO, Defence, ASIO, the National Security Hotline, Parliamentarians, judges and foreign embassies and consulates. I established a new national team to take responsibility for the portfolio, improve the quality and security of the listings and rebuilt relationships with some of the organisation's most politically sensitive clients.
Building on this success, I also worked closely with the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet to develop and roll out a mandatory, consistent branding policy across the Australian Government, then create a customised Government section in White Pages print directories nationally to improve government communication with citizens, and represented Sensis in Canberra as corporate sponsor of the National Press Club Address for more than two years.
It was a period that gave me a broad commercial education. From selling and managing some of Australia's biggest brands, to leading teams, dealing with complex government relationships and fixing businesses and customer operations that weren't working as they should.

As Director of Sales & Marketing at ColorTile / Japan Ceramics, I led a multi-million-dollar sales and marketing operation across retail showrooms, trade customers, project builders and major projects.
I helped drive double-digit growth across the business while expanding the proposition beyond the traditional retail model. This included helping establish a new tiling installations division, developing a new bathroom products range and launching an online marketplace.
It was another opportunity to work across a combination of B2B and B2C channels, while balancing the commercial demands of retail, trade and major project customers.
As Founder and CEO of ITBIZ, I started an IT services business from scratch and grew it into a profitable enterprise providing technology services and support to SMEs.
Starting with the business itself rather than an existing customer base or team, I built the proposition, won customers, developed the team and created the operating capability needed to scale.
I ultimately led the business through a successful sale, giving me early experience of what it takes to build a business, create value and then translate that value into an exit.
As Commercial Director at Sharing Minds, part of Asta and a Microsoft Gold Partner, I was brought in for a 12-month project to commercialise a new legal technology division.
There was effectively no established sales operation when I started, so I built the go-to-market strategy, sales and marketing capability and commercial pipeline needed to take the new SaaS offering to market.
Within the first six months, I generated more than $1 million in banked revenue and grew the division to more than $2 million in sales across the financial year. I also helped achieve profitability in year one through disciplined pricing, cost control and go-to-market design.
The work included signing more than 1,200 licensed users, selling more than 1,600 professional service hours and leading the migration of Community Legal Centres across Australia, involving more than 700,000 legal clients, 1.5 million legal records and more than 10 terabytes of highly sensitive documents.
As Country Manager APAC at Bettersource, I was brought in for a three-month project to improve the commercial performance of a remote staffing and labour hire business.
I focused on the fundamentals of the sales operation including market positioning, go-to-market strategy, lead generation, pipeline management and accountability.
I developed and launched a new go-to-market strategy to reverse declining performance and win new business, while introducing a structured lead, pipeline and sales management system to give the business greater visibility over performance, conversion and future growth.
As IT Manager within government, I led the management of information technology services for a large government organisation across multiple sites.
The role gave me an early understanding of operating in complex, highly structured environments where reliability, security, service delivery and stakeholder management matter as much as the technology itself.
