Sean Wilson works with founders and business owners who want to build a stronger, more valuable and more sustainable business.
As a founder himself, and with more than 20 years of commercial and executive leadership experience, Sean understands the reality of building a business — from creating the initial proposition and winning customers, through to scaling teams, strengthening operations, professionalising leadership and preparing for the next stage.
The challenge changes as the business grows. What worked when you were doing everything yourself does not necessarily work when you have a team, customers, investors, partners and increasing complexity around you.
One of the biggest challenges for founders is knowing when the business has outgrown the way it was originally built.
You may be dealing with:
Growth that is creating more complexity than value
Too many decisions still coming back to you
A leadership team that needs to step up
Strategy that has become unclear or difficult to execute
Sales growing but profitability not keeping pace
Operational issues that are consuming your time
People, systems or processes that have not kept up with growth
A business that is too dependent on the founder
The need to professionalise the business without losing what made it successful
Preparing for investment, succession, sale or exit
You do not necessarily need another consultant telling you what you should do.
You may need someone who has actually sat in the seat, understands the commercial reality and can challenge your thinking while helping you work through what needs to happen next.
I work alongside founders as an experienced sounding board, advisor and, where required, hands-on executive support.
Together, we can:
Clarify where the business is going and what matters most
Challenge assumptions and identify the issues that are holding the business back
Strengthen strategy, positioning and the commercial model
Improve sales, marketing and customer growth
Build stronger leadership capability and accountability
Reduce founder dependency
Improve operational performance and organisational structure
Establish the systems, processes and information needed to scale
Identify opportunities to improve profitability and enterprise value
Navigate difficult decisions, change and periods of rapid growth
Prepare the business for succession, investment, sale or exit
The objective is not simply to make the founder busier or the business bigger. It is to build a better business.
Founders are often too close to the business to see everything clearly. That is not a criticism. It is a natural consequence of having built it. I can provide an independent perspective while understanding the emotional and commercial reality of what is at stake. I will challenge assumptions where necessary, ask the uncomfortable questions and focus on what will actually make a difference. Sometimes that means refining the strategy. Sometimes it means changing the operating model. Sometimes it means hiring differently, changing the leadership structure, stopping something that is no longer working or simply getting the founder out of the weeds. The answer is different for every business.
My own experience includes building and scaling businesses, leading organisations as CEO and Managing Director, taking on COO and commercial leadership roles, transforming underperforming businesses and successfully positioning businesses for exit.
I have worked across startups, scale-ups, large enterprises, technology, professional services, healthcare, retail, industry associations and not-for-profits.
I bring that breadth of experience to the founder's problem — not a generic playbook.
My role is to help you see the business clearly, make better decisions and turn those decisions into action.
You know your business better than anyone. My role is not to tell you how to run it. It is to bring experience, perspective, commercial judgement and, when needed, the executive capability to help you build what comes next. Whether you need an experienced sounding board, strategic advice, a fractional executive, or someone to take ownership of a critical challenge, the support can be shaped around what your business actually needs.
A stronger business. A stronger leadership team. Less dependence on the founder. And greater value for the future.
